Maine
Maine has been like my second home since I was about 5 years old. My family lives in Falmouth, Freeport and Kennebunkport, all beautiful towns that I truly love. My favorite time to visit Maine is in the summer.
The beaches and towns are the perfect temperature in the summer..
not too hot and usually have a nice breeze. Maine is divided into eight distinct tourism regions, each offering their own unique activities, events
and accommodations. Maine has 6,000 lakes, 32,000 miles of rivers, 5,000 miles of coast and 17 million acres of forestland. There’s plenty of room
to spread out and experience all Maine has to offer!
My favorite Towns in Maine -
The Kennebunks - Over 100 years ago, this part of the Maine Coast first became a resort destination, and today it's know as "the place to be all year". Kennebunk is home to Unique Gift Shops, Great Beaches, Whale Watching & Sailing Excursions, Fine Dining & Lodging, and President George H.W. Bush has his summer home here! Two miles East of Kennebunkport's Dock Square is the fishing village of Cape Porpoise. Here you can find Goat Island Lighthouse.. you may also find it enjoyable to watch Lobstermen working at the Pier and did I mention more shopping and restaurants ? :) . My favorite "must see" beach in Kennebunk is Goose Rocks Beach, which has 3 miles of coastline!
Portland - Located on Casco Bay, Portland is Maine’s largest city (and most fun!). Paved with cobblestone streets, lined with gourmet restaurants, its many art shops as well as first class shopping , make Portland a very memorable vacation destination. Many craftspeople, artists, and other creative types have chosen to live and work here. Portland is a city bustling with natural beauty and rich history. Here you can also find lots of sports and outdoor recreation. For an unforgettable excursion on the waters of Casco Bay while learning the daily routines of a Maine Lobsterman you MUST do an excursion with THE LUCKY CATCH.
Freeport - Located along the shores of upper Casco Bay, approximately 20 minutes north of Portland. It is best known for its upscale outlet shopping and as home to the world-famous L.L. Bean outdoor store! Freeport isn’t all about shopping. The historical town is often credited as being the birthplace of the State of Maine.
