Bermuda
Bermuda is also known as the "Jewel of the Atlantic". Who would have thought such a beautiful and tropical island would be less than 2 hours away from most eastern US airports! Bermuda is known to have practically perfect weather, pink sandy beaches, many historic sites and extremely friendly people. As far as safety, Bermuda is the safest island I've ever visited! Condé Nast Traveler voted Bermuda "Best Island in the Caribbean/Atlantic" 17 times since 1994.
There are many water activities you can do while on the Island as well as gorgeous beaches to see, a variety of great restaurants and transportation around the entire Island is super easy by bus (and most affordable by bus).
Here are some top recommendations :
Hotel – Best Bang for Your Buck!!
- Fairmont Southampton -
The Fairmont Southampton is in a great location in Bermuda. Away from the crowd, near the most amazing beaches in Bermuda and close to many many restaurants. Its very easy to get around the Island from this hotel. The Hotel staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The pool, private beach and all the hotel restaurants were GREAT! No complaints . Fairmont Southampton hotel was voted one of the top resorts in the Atlantic by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler in 2009 and 2010. I researched every hotel in Bermuda and for the price you really cant find anything better!
#1 Place for water sports in Bermuda!
- Somerset Bridge Watersports-
I rented a boat for the day with Somerset Bridge Watersports and I found them to be VERY well priced, but also extremely safe, experienced, helpful and ensured a great day! You can do so much with this company from snorkeling, boat rentals, Jet Ski tours, fishing packages etc.. With my boat rental I also got fishing equipment, a tackle box and bait.. they also gave us a very informative map of areas that we shouldn't travel past. This was by far the best thing I did in Bermuda! So fun!!
